MAD - Mauro Antonino D'Angelo

Master Mauro Antonino D’Angelo began practicing Chinese martial arts as a child and has never stopped his love for oriental disciplines ever since. He became an instructor at the age of 17. His passion for this discipline led him to travel all over the world, to meet and study with the Masters of the past generation. Thirty years of dedication exclusively to the research, practice and teaching of traditional martial arts.

During his long career he has devoted himself to the study and teaching of different styles of Kung Fu, including Wing Chun, Tai Ji Quan and Ba Gua Zhang.

Always passionate about Eastern culture and internal practices, he has been living in Shanghai, China, for many years, where he continues his research and teaching of traditional martial arts, also collaborating with major Chinese companies through events and seminars. He is formally part of the fourth generation of the “Great Achievement” (Da Cheng Quan) tradition and of the Miao Dao sword lineage (within the Tong Bei Quan and Pi Gua Quan family). These traditions have always sought to preserve and pass on the values of traditional martial arts, combining practices dedicated to transformation and psycho-physical refinement.
Researching deeply in the Chinese tradition, from which he learned the progressions to realize the theories described in the classics, Master Mauro A. D'Angelo then approached the Indian culture and Yoga. Considering the link between the two cultures, he studied and integrated the practices of breathing and physical empowerment, taking into account the lifestyle of students of the 21st century.

Even the press and television, were frequently interesting to the work of Master Mauro A. D'Angelo. Several interviews were given to martial arts newspapers and his articles published in Wing Chun Illustrated, Corriere Asia, New Martial Hero and Budo International. Both the Italian and the Chinese national television, have produced over the years, various services and documentaries on the life and work of the master, following him in around the world. On several occasions he also lent his qualities to the world of Cinema, participating as an actor in several Chinese martial arts productions.

In 2013 he founded the DECODE project. Thanks to his students and the Western masters who decided to study with him and embrace the project, DECODE has opened locations and courses throughout Italy, France, Switzerland, Belgium, Spain and Brazil.
