This is the first part of a very long interview in which we will talk about Internal Styles, Yi Quan and the evolution of martial arts.
Listening back to his version of the origins of Ba Gua Zhang brought to mind a hundred different versions of the same story. Each family tells how their lineage is the purest, how their method is the truest and most original. Basically they all try to give credit to their system by relying on legends of the past. This approach is very rooted in modern Chinese culture but this should not confuse westerners that everything they hear from their Masters are the absolute truth.
