Dario Pisanti’s martial arts journey is deeply connected to the history of Master Mauro A. D’Angelo and the founding of DECODE, whose evolution he has experienced firsthand.
After an initial introduction to Judo during childhood, Dario began studying Kung Fu in 2001 at the Wu Tao school in Rome, where he met Master D’Angelo. From that moment, his commitment was not so much to a particular discipline as to a teacher whose technical expertise, passion, and, above all, consistency between what he taught and what he demonstrated in practice earned his lasting respect.
Through his studies of Wing Chun and Ba Gua Zhang, Dario became one of the school’s instructors, participating directly in the gradual development of the DECODE Method. He experienced this process not as a break with the past, but as the natural evolution of an ongoing exploration that was never confined to fixed ideas.
Throughout more than twenty-five years of training, one of Master D’Angelo’s teachings has acquired particular significance for him: “If you never have doubts, you are already making a mistake.” This statement encapsulates an approach founded on practical verification, the willingness to question one’s own assumptions, and the continuous pursuit of deeper understanding.
Today, Dario teaches across all DECODE disciplines, from Kids and Teens programmes to Combat, Traditional Weapons and Tools, and Internal Alchemy, at various locations throughout Rome. His teaching experience includes regular classes, seminars, and private lessons.
At the heart of his teaching philosophy is the conviction that exercises are tools, not goals in themselves. Teaching therefore means going beyond the mere reproduction of forms, adapting practice to each individual in order to develop tangible, verifiable, and progressively more refined abilities.
