Emilio Bernardini

Before discovering DECODE, Emilio Bernardini had spent approximately eight years practicing boxing, an experience that had given him a solid familiarity with combat but had not brought him into contact with traditional martial arts. When a friend introduced him to DECODE, he was looking for something different. During his first encounters with Master Mauro A. D’Angelo, he was particularly struck by the way he moved: a remarkable command of the body, capable of expressing physical power while maintaining an extraordinary sense of inner calm.

Internal Alchemy became the foundation of a transformation that gradually reshaped his relationship with movement. From posture to power generation, Emilio discovered physical possibilities he had never previously considered. In particular, experiencing how power could be generated through relaxation led him to reconsider what he had long believed to be fixed physical limitations. This understanding also began to influence his practice of Combat and Traditional Weapons and Tools.

Through Master D’Angelo’s research and teachings, Emilio discovered an approach in which restoring and developing physical and mental capacities takes precedence over acquiring techniques. This perspective helped him overcome the stereotypes that had previously kept him away from martial arts, revealing a path that is accessible and capable of supporting personal development throughout the different stages of life.

His desire to deepen and share these experiences led him to pursue teacher training. He began teaching at DECODE’s headquarters in Rome before establishing his own Internal Alchemy classes. Today, he also teaches Traditional Weapons and Tools, bringing into his teaching the sensitivity to human relationships developed through his professional experience.

For Emilio, teaching means above all guiding students in discovering their own physical potential, sharing the technical principles and human values that, through DECODE, have gradually transformed not only his approach to movement but also the way he lives and relates to others.
