FORM (TAO LU)
The forms are, at academic level, the fundamental techniques of the style and give the body the basic settings required for the martial practice of Wing Chun. They are an indispensable tool for passing on the main elements related to the style and represent a source of techniques that can be used in combat applications. They help also to develop concentration and mental presence.
SIL LIM TAO
It’s the first form of Wing Chun. In its essence it provides a complete and accurate overview of the most important techniques. It 's the core of the style and is a perfect manual for the base of study. It is entirely practiced in the static position of Yee Jee Kim Yang Mah.
CHEUNG KUEN (Arrow Punch)
It presents a different set of positions of the fist (arrow fist) and involves the use of some leg techniques. Short movements and dynamic sequence, useful for developing roots and become familiar with the leg techniques, is an excellent training tool for joints and for muscle strengthening. Being associated with the crane figure works on the principles relating to stability and balance, puts effort on the principle of close distance and works on coordination between arms and legs, giving the practitioner a strong and solid structure.
CHUM KIU (Look for the bridge with his arms)
As is clear from the name of the form, the principles of movement enclosed in it are connected to the remote management: it uses the guard of the opponent as a "bridge" towards our benefit. Once in contact, the arms and legs of the opponent will guide us toward its center, allowing us to close up the distance. Thus it puts the focus on movements and their importance in the execution and coordination of the technique.
BIL JEE (penetrating finger)
The form shows the use of more sophisticated techniques and some elements of postural recovery. When fighting it might happen that you lose the general layout of the body after taking a stroke or unleashed a technique. Bil Jee is useful for recovering the body’s structure in order to always be ready to attack and cover. Specifically, it describes how to hit the opponent with the ends of the body and in particular with the fingers and elbows. It specializes on the technique of turning the wrist and provides basic exercises on the use of pressure on points.
SAR PAO KUEN (FORM with punching bags)
The practice of this form involves the use of a pair of bags placed on a wall. They act as a fixed target on which to gain technique. The form with the bag, presented in the program of the 2nd Base Level, trains primarily the setting of fists and their empowerment (knuckles and wrist). It consists of double techniques of arms (cover and attack at the same time) to enhance coordination, presents moving the diagonal with cover and the Choy that means attacking passing from "below." Study by repeating several times for each sequence, the various techniques: this allows you, over time, to figure out how much energy is put into the arms depending on what you are doing; at an advanced level it teaches to use the body as a "spring", on further level it teaches on using a minimum load to release the maximum power in the strikes.
MOK YANG CHONG (3 Forms to wooden dummy)
Formed by a trunk of 30 cm in diameter, with two arms on the top line, a central height of the stomach and a leg with a 45 ° angle in the bottom, the wooden dummy replaces a hypothetical opponent and allows the practitioner to release all the force in the strikes and simultaneously strengthen muscles and bones of the arms and legs. The main function of the form is to let us understand the angles on attack and defense with a consequent improvement in technology in general, also has many hedging techniques and contemporary attack both of arms and of arms-legs. There are 3 forms with the wooden dummy: the first simplified form, a longer traditional form and a form for the study of kicks.
SAP LOK GERK FAT (Kick form)
It is a specialized form of leg techniques; It encloses a great variety of different function kicks (high kicks and turned kicks). Some of these are certainly not very used in Wing Chun combat, however, allow us to have a more uniformed and complete vision for the use of legs and give more power and balance.
