Patrizia Pozzoli’s martial arts journey began in childhood with Judo, marking the start of a long path that also led her to explore Japanese disciplines such as Kendo, Kenjutsu, Iaido, and Aikido. With a degree in Philosophy, she later deepened her studies of the Feldenkrais Method, qualifying as a practitioner and gaining four years of teaching experience. These experiences fostered an ongoing exploration of movement, learning, and the relationship between body and mind.
In 2019, during a period of dissatisfaction with her Tai Ji Quan practice, she discovered DECODE. Here, she rediscovered the martial effectiveness she had experienced in Judo, together with a method capable of making accessible physical qualities that, until then, she had only intuitively perceived.
Her encounter with Master Mauro A. D’Angelo marked a decisive turning point. What impressed her was not only his strength, technical effectiveness, and teaching ability, but above all the consistency between what he teaches and what he expresses through his own body. Principles such as Song and explosive power became directly perceptible experiences. Through Zhan Zhuang and contemplative practices, Patrizia discovered a practical path towards developing physical and inner qualities that she had previously experienced only occasionally.
Daily practice profoundly transformed her relationship with herself, helping her overcome the separation between personal experience and martial arts practice that she had long perceived.
Since 2022, Patrizia has been teaching DECODE programmes in Milan, as well as leading workshops dedicated to traditional training tools. She also collaborates with the DECODE editorial team, contributing to the development and refinement of editorial content and the dissemination of the method’s culture and principles.
For Patrizia, teaching means giving back what she has received, guiding students in recognising and transforming the way their bodies are organised and move. She also wishes to deepen her understanding of the specific characteristics of women’s practice, contributing to the development of teaching approaches that respect individual differences and to the continued growth of DECODE throughout Europe.
